Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) is hands-down the best choice. It’s durable, water-resistant, and much cheaper than tile or hardwood. Plus, it’s easy to clean and holds up well to the temperature and humidity changes common in basements.
Start by clearing out everything you can. Removing furniture, storage items, and clutter gives us the room we need to work safely and efficiently. It’s also a great opportunity to declutter and organize!
Dealing with moisture and water issues is by far the hardest—and most important—part. You don’t want to build over a problem that could lead to mold or damage down the line.
That’s why we focus on identifying and fixing any water-related issues before starting the remodel.
We recommend using Rockwool insulation. It’s moisture-resistant, provides great thermal protection, and even adds soundproofing, which is perfect for basement spaces.
Drywall is the go-to option for most basements. It’s cost-effective, easy to finish, and looks clean and polished.
